        Jim has been working with animals for his entire life. For instance, he began his journey volunteering at The Grove nature center located in Glenview, IL. Due to this amazing experience, he went on to study zoology at Eastern Illinois University. Once college was complete, Jim got to be what a lot of little kids say they want to be when asked; for 10 years he was a zookeeper!

        In episode 29, Mitch learns even though Jim loved his zoo job, he had other plans brewing. It was a desire to bring animals to people in the comfort of their own home or schools. This shift gave Jim the opportunity to educate people in an unique way plus an incredible hands on experience. Thus removing some of the stigma and myths surrounding certain animals. 

        In order to start making his business known, he drove around and personally handed out flyers to schools, libraries and daycares in the area. Proudly, Jim has built the business from the ground up and runs it as a one-man operation.

        During normal circumstances, JG’s Reptile Road Show is booked solid during the summer months however, in the face of COVID-19, Facebook and Google for marketing. Jim has been flexible in adapting his business model and utilizes Facebook Lives for shows as well as Facebook chatting.
